Easy mid length track with some dirt stretches and almost no traffic.

Travelling time: 6 hours (including stops to visit Bosco Fontana, Sigurtà park and Borghetto).
The itinerary.
Start: The itinerary starts in Porta Mulina square, at the parking beside the railway.
Go down along the tarred path, turn left, then right just after passing under the bridge. Follow the footbridge along Lago Superiore as far as Canottieri Mincio rowing club (km. 1,5). Keep on along the wetdock and turn left at the end of via Santa Maria; enter a small gate and take right along a narrow path running through the fields till you get to Mantua-Peschiera cycle track. Cross the road and follow the dirt cart road running along Parcarello canal. You get to Diversivo canal tarred bank (km. 5); follow it and cross to the other side of the canal when you see directions to Bosco Fontana (km.7).
Leave your bike at the entrance gate and take a walk into this oaks, hornbeams and maples wood to the beautiful Gonzaga's hunting manor. Take back your bike and follow the cycle track to Marmirolo (Km. 9). At the village Tower, proceed towards San Brizio and Rotta (km. 10,5) on a low traffic local road along Molinella canal. Once in Marengo, turn left to Goito and you find soon Pozzolo-Maglio canal (parking side and signs). Take the towpath towards Peschiera. At the bridge, you can turn left to visit the ancient Romanesque parish and the medieval mill in Massimbona (km. 1,5 round trip). Back to the bridge, proceed to Pozzolo (km. 16), where you find again Mincio river; cross the provincial road and keep on along the bank as far as Mulini di Volta Mantovana and Borghetto (km. 22). You should pay a visit to Borghetto, then divert to Valeggio for visiting Sigurtà park. Back to the cycle track, proceed northwards to Monzambano (km 27), then to Salionze dam. Here, cross to the other bank and proceed along the towpath, passing under Milan-Venice highway and national road 11 bridges. You can admire beautiful rows of poplars along this stretch.
At the end of the path, you get to a crossroads: turn right, cross the bridge and the railway, and you are at Peschiera fortress (km. 37).
