Villimpenta Scaliger castle

This castle was built by the Scaliger family with a plan shaped as an irregular pentagon; two polygonal towers and a massive corner tower remain. The castle originally had a tower at each corner and one in the longer sides. The tower on the northwest corner is approximately 42 metres tall.

Originally, it was surrounded on all sides by the River Tione, where the monks of the Benedictine abbey of San Zeno in Verona settled in or around the year 1000.
