Standing in the street now named after Vittorino da Feltre, this dates at least from the second half of the 13C. It has a restrained design with a nave and no aisles. Running all around it, beneath the roof trusses is a frescoed frieze interspersed with tondos featuring the faces of Franciscan saints, dating from the early 16C. Restructured and extended at the initiative of Paola Malatesta Gonzaga in 1418, it became a home of Franciscan spiritual reform.
Vittorino da Feltre (Feltre 1373 or 1378-Mantua 1446), who conceived the educational experience of the ‘Casa Giocosa’, is buried here.
