Church of St Maurizio

This overlooks a small open space on the corner of Via Chiassi and Via Viani. It was built for the Theatine Order in 1609, to a design by the architect Antonio Maria Viani. It became a parish church after the Theatines left in 1797.

The interior has a nave flanked by six chapels enriched with major 17C works by the artists Bazzani, Boccaccino, Carracci, Denys, Geffels, Massari, Fabbri, Motta and Brunetti.
