This parish church is a majestic Neoclassical building (42 m long, 18 m wide, 25 m high) inaugurated in 1804 to replace a previous one, demolished in the last decade of the 18C because unsafe.
In 1790, an architect from Cremona, Luigi Bartolomeo Bianzani, was appointed to restore and possibly expand the church but this proved impossible and it was decided to build a new church on a safe site to the right of the previous one, demolished to partly recycle its materials.
The facade was completed in 1820-1825 and the bell-tower added in 1912. The interior is imposing and the vaulted ceiling is the greatest surprise, with four great arches supporting three large oval vaults.
