Church of St Michele Arcangelo

Scenically positioned high on a mound not far from the River Oglio, the church of San Michele Arcangelo in Carzaghetto dates from the 16C and conserves a well-executed altarpiece depicting the patron saint of the church and hamlet. The church was reconstructed over the previous one in 1487, an indication of an age-old local tradition linked to the saint. The patron saint’s day is celebrated on 29 September with a procession and band.
