Oratory of St. Pio X al ‘Guast’

Executed by Adolfo Galli, a pupil of the Comunità di Nomadelfia, and completed in 1995, this is considered a modern architectural gem and blends well with the surrounding context. Of considerable interest and fine workmanship, the interior features a plaster depiction of the Crucifixion and the Holy Family; to the right is a statue of St Aloysius Gonzaga and, to the left, one of St Pius X, after whom the oratory is named.

Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto came to Poggio Rusco more than once on pastoral visits while he was bishop of Mantua and before becoming Pope Pius X.
