Facade of the Scuola Materna Parrocchiale

The polychrome mural Girotondo (1967, 620x800cm) adorning the facade of the parish nursery school is by Giuseppe Gorni (1894-1975), an artist from Quistello with close family and emotional ties to Poggio.

His works clearly convey “that integrity, that purity and that love for simplicity” (R. Margonari) that mark all his production and are expressed in the words chosen by the artist for the epitaph on his tomb: “I am here”.
