This was created in the hamlet of Casale, in the 16C, out of a rural building, perhaps a hay barn, next to an existing and imposing Romanesque tower.
Divided into five separate levels by dentellated moulding, the tower has slender single-light windows and probably served in the Middle Ages as a watchtower and local garrison. It is thought to date from no later than the second half of the 11C.
