Prisons' Tower

In 1667, the present clock bell-tower was erected in the square, following the collapse of the previous one 28 November 1666. A 1680 print shows that there were six gates in all. Beside the tower, at the start of the Rizzata, stands the ‘Fontanino delle Prigioni’.

The tower was restored 25 years ago and is currently owned by a bank.
