Corte Basalgana

This rural closed-plan settlement originated on a site of great archaeological interest and very early settlement – as demonstrated by the presence of a terramare discovered in the late 19C, and recently the focus of new studies.

The Corte comprises dwellings and outbuildings, including most notably a crenellated tower. This latter construction was originally a dovecote with an entrance; the arch was later walled up and the construction raised and altered in Gothic-Revival style.
