Audiovisual Communication Centre 'Oreste Coni'

The Centre is located into the cultural centre, together with the Teatro Giacometti and the Biblioteca Comunale (the local library), under the XVI century Gonzaga-style arcade built by Bertazzolo.
The Oreste Coni’s collection, given to the Municipal District, has become a Multimedia Audiovisual Communication Centre, and it displays cameras and motion-picture cameras that represent a historical summary that goes from the twenties to the present day.
The exposition is divided into two sections. In the first one, there are cameras and a subtitled itinerary with historical information about the origins of photography and old cinematography. In the second section, there are the projectors and the laboratory. This video and technical documentary style section is the “heart” of the Communication Centre.
As a matter of fact, the laboratory allows people’s approach to the techniques of the audio-visual, documentary, photographic, direction and assembling communication.
The aim is making the Centre operative through cultural events of different kinds; for this reason, different links have been activated with the library, the teachers of the local schools, some schools in Mantua province and the group “Artisti sotto l'albero
