Church of St. Caterina

Of mediaeval origin (as demonstrated by the bell-tower, visible from the entrance of the mansion behind), this church adopted its present appearance after a remake in 1738.

The dynamic facade is its main feature. Inside, an alcove in the left wall contains a 14C statue of St Catherine of Alexandria; a 15C fresco of the Madonna dell'Aiuto in the apse came from the lost church of San Nicolò, where intense attendance of the congregation is said to have given rise to the Marian devotion in the month of May.
