The public gardens - recently regenerated to accommodate a future river mooring for small leisure-craft on the River Oglio – are still home to the ‘Preda Pescadura’, a large stone conserved in memory of a castle that used to stand on this spot. This unusual object is all that bears testimony to the glorious Gonzaga fortifications demolished in the 18C.
According to tradition, the stone was situated in the old fish market. At the centre of these gardens, a rendezvous of people of all ages, is a statue of the patron saint Charity. Also overlooking the small park is the Municipio, an old mansion that previously belonged to the D'Arco family.
