Shown on the famous 1691 hand-drawn map reproducing a plan of the fortifications of Gazzuolo by G. Bertazzolo, the villa is Neoclassical in style and contains approximately 40 rooms (including the annex, currently a delightful restaurant), many of which finely decorated.
The villa was owned by the bishop of Cremona, Omobono Offredi, who mainly stayed there in summer, and also has an internal oratory dedicated to the Our Lady of Caravaggio. After several hereditary passages, in the 1950s the last heir Stanga donated the villa to the parish, which sold it to a private individual in 1995.
