The Torre Civica is all that survives of the old Casaloldo castle. It was the entrance that in times past linked the fortified nucleus to the village via a drawbridge across a defensive moat. The facade on Via Dante Alighieri has two arched entrances and three vertical openings in the walls, needed for the lifting mechanism. The top of the castle tower is a bell-tower and today houses an early-20C clock, still operational.
