Museo del Salame Casalino

For years, the Mezza family at Corte Valle San Martino has been collecting objects and tools associated with life in the countryside south of the River Po.

Their enthusiasm has resulted in a collection of items associated with pig-rearing and the production of Salame Casalino, one of the finest local products. There are all the tools used by pork butchers when they toured the farmyards on cold winter mornings to slaughter pigs. Two documentary films compare old and new pig-butchering techniques.
