The parish church, with its sombre baroque lines, was built in 1741 inside the Scaligero Castle, incorporating an earlier Romanesque church.
It has a nave with a vaulted ceiling and four chapels with arches alternating with smaller rectangular recesses. Consecrated in 1897, it is dedicated to St Nicholas of Bari. The church has several fine artworks dating from the period between the 15C and the 18C: a wooden carving of the Virgin Mary, two polychrome marble altars, several paintings and numerous liturgical furnishings.
