Ecomuseo della risaia, dei fiumi e del paesaggio rurale mantovano

“An Eco museum is an agreement by which a Community takes care of its Territory” 

Regione Lombardia recognized the Ecomuseum of the paddy fields, rivers, and mantuan rural landscape in 2008. It includes the municipalities of Castel d’Ario (LEADER), Roncoferraro, Villimpenta, Bagnolo San Vito, Virgilio, San Giorgio, Bigarello, Castelbelforte and aims to:

· Knowledge, preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage (tangible and intangile) of the territory
· Promotion of social, economic, cultural and environmental changes
· Conveyance of a new awareness of the role of the Ecomuseum, as a means to make choices suitable for a sustainable development of the territory and for a real integration of any member of the community
· Knowledge of the historical – artistic heritage of the Eco museum
· Respect and preservation of the environment
· Promotion of cultural traditions of the inhabitants in the ecomuseum territory, both ancient and new.
