Former Carmeline convent

This convent was founded by Marchese Francesco Gonzaga, his wife Isabella d'Este and Bishop Ludovico Gonzaga ‘ad instantiam et petitionem nonnullarum virginum’ on 18 February 1492. Although given the name of Santa Maria della Visitazione or Santa Maria del Paradiso, it became commonly known as Santa Maria del Carmelino.

The church was restored in 2012 and now houses the Tazio Nuvolari museum.
