Convent of the Annunciata

Nestling in the countryside, the old monastery of the Annunciata was founded in 1455 and has belonged to the same family since 1828.It is now a venue for private receptions.

The complex comprises a consecrated Neoclassical church, a large garden and some Renaissance porticoes. It has features typical of International Gothic style in the Po Valley, similar to those of the abbey of Polirone at San Benedetto Po. In the recently restored ruins of the cloister, visitors can see frescoes brought back to life after centuries of neglect.
