Description: The itinerary is all on the purpose-built cycle pedestrian towpath wending its way alongside the banks of the Mincio river and of some man-made canals, within the Mincio Regional Park.

Route conditions: The itinerary is not particularly challenging as it is completely on level ground; the surface of the path is mainly covered with asphalt and is well shaded. You must take care at the junctions with busy roads and in the Peschiera town, where the route ends as you leave the Mincio bank.  

Not to be missed:
Mantua: Palazzo Ducale (Gonzaga palace), Palazzo Te, S.Andrea Church, Duomo (Cathedral); the medieval Borghetto village with the impressive Visconti bridge; Mozambano: the ancient Della Scala castle and the parish church; Peschiera: the castle and parish church. The Mincio river habitat enlivened by river terraces and rows of trees and the scenic view of the Garda lake.
