Cycle route 6 “Higher Morainic Passage”

CAVRIANA - CASTELLARO LAGUSELLO - MONZAMBANO - PONTI SUL MINCIO Distance: km 20.8

Description: The itinerary allows to appreciate the main environmental and historical beauties of the Mantua morainic hills; it unfolds mainly along municipal roads with little traffic.

Route conditions: Despite some ups and downs, the route is not particularly challenging; asphalt road and well shaded; on some stretches of road  you must mind the traffic, at junctions particularly.

Not to be missed:
Cavriana: Archeological Museum and Romanesque parish church; the medieval town of Castellaro Lagusello enclosed by its fortified walls and the morainic lake; Monzambano: the ancient Della Scala castle and the parish church; Ponti sul Mincio: the castle and S.Nicola Church.
The farmland landscape, dotted with orchards and vineyards interspersed with self-sown vegetation provide a fine backdrop with the Mincio river.
