Cycle route 2d Right –bank of the Po river

FROM RIVA DI SUZZARA TO THE BRIDGE OF  SAN BENEDETTO PO Km 34,7

Description: the itinerary follows the right – hand side bank of the Po river, along the embankment roads with little traffic.

Route conditions: The journey is not particularly difficult as it is fully  on level ground; the road surface is mainly asphalted , except , for the first short stretch not too well shaded; take care of some junctions and in the stretch  of the provincial road from Motteggiana to S. Benedetto Po.

Not to be missed:
the San Colombaro Park close to Riva, the art gallery in Suzzara; the Polirone Monastery in S. Benedetto; the view of the Oltrepò Mantovano area, strongly influenced by the close link with the rivers. The area features the sources of the Zara river, the Po river gorges shaped by closeness of the Oglio River mouth and the presence of typical bumps.

FROM THE BRIDGE OF SAN BENEDETTO PO TO QUATRELLE

Description: The journey unfolds along the right – hand side bank of the Po river, along the embankment roads which are fairly busy; it is important to take care at some junctions.

Route conditions: The journey is not particularly difficult as it is fully on level ground; most of the road surface is asphalted, except for some stretches of dirt road, scarcely shaded.

Not to be missed: the square of Quingentole; the Palazzo Ducale of Revere; the water-shopping plant of Moglia di Sermide; the parish church of Felonica; the view of the mouth of the Mincio and Secchia rivers.
