Bonacolsi Palace

Today’s Palazzo Castiglioni, from the name of the family who bought it in the 19th century, the palace was first attributed to the Bonacolsi, who were the first lords of Mantua (from 1272 to 1328). This attribution is yet questioned by a number of elements on the same building, which would seem to indicate that the palace was built in the Gonzaga period. The palace structure is in terracotta and is surmounted by merlons of Ghibelline type.
