Palazzo dei Gonzaga - Town Hall

The construction of Palazzo Comunale in Commessaggio is coeval, 1583, to that of the Torrazzo and the bridge over the canal, and was another initiative by Vespasiano Gonzaga who had taken possession of the village and wanted to mould its urban configuration and give it a number of key buildings, including Palazzo della Comunità, seat of the ducal vicariate (or massaro), appointed to civil and judiciary government as a representative of the lord’s power.
