Quingentole town hall

Formerly the bishop's villa, this building now houses the town hall, a civic theatre and the schools. It originated from a pre-existing building that bishop Ludovico Gonzaga (1483-1511), son of Ludovico Gonzaga and Barbara of Brandenburg, decided to extend in the late 15C.

The works lasted approximately a decade after starting in 1484 and turned the building into a rectangular type with central courtyard, along the lines of nearby Gonzaga country residences, such as the neighbouring Palazzo Ducale in Revere.
