Santa Maria parish church
Standing solitary amid cypress trees and high on the hill overlooking the plain, the delightful parish church of Santa Maria dates from the 9C, perhaps 1110, which is the year engraved on a Roman tile. It has an interesting wall structure of Roman and mediaeval bricks, pebbles, stones and broken pottery. The rear area with three apses featuring pilasters and topped with a bell-tower is most attractive. The gabled interior presents remains of Gothic frescoes and a marble sculpture depicting the Virgin of Mercy.
