Revere was likely founded by the Etruscans. It lies along Po river and its name may come from riverbank: Refere, Riperium, Ripria and finally Revere island.
You should visit the Po river museum, an ethnographical museum dedicated to the river, in Palazzo Ducale; outside they have rebuilt a real floating mill.
Palazzo Ducale is a XV century renovation of the ancient fortress; its tower (a former XII century keep) is still embattled.
Still, there is the Carmelite Annunciazione church, which was built in 1750 on a former church, whose bell tower can still be admired; two important paintings by Bazzani (1751-52) are in the apse.
San Biagio oratory, in Zello, is the most ancient religious building in Revere; it is decked with XV century frescoes, which are pretty damaged today.
Revere is a good river port for inland navigation along Po river, from spring to September.
