Descrizione

Schivenoglia is mentioned after 1000 AD as a part of Revere island; it was a part of Revere until 1816, when it became a municipality.
What to see:
the XV century church, which was renovated in XIX century;
the bell tower;
XVIII century Dall’Acqua farm, a typical Mantuan rural residence;
XVII century Cucca Vecchia farm and its beautiful porch – which is today really damaged -;
the wonderful typical Rangoria farm;
Brazzuolo oratory (1688), which is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary.
Two important people were born in Schivenoglia: Andrea of Schivenoglia, who wrote a “Chronicle of Mantua” from 1445 to 1484, and Francesco Maria Raineri – called “Lo Schivenoglia” -, a great painter who lived in XVII-XVIII century.
