Torbiere di Belforte

Belforte also has its “Peat-bog Valley". Situated on the right bank of the village, similar to that of Marcaria with the same physiognomy (ancient meander and marsh), it is at a lower altitude than the surrounding countryside and mainly contains poplar trees. The reclaimed canals and ponds created by the peat extraction, are bordered by an interesting selection of flora including marsh grasses and floating aquatic plants.

For some years  there has been a parking area in the valley equipped by the Municipality of  San Martino dall'Argineand by the Park. An illustrated brochure of the area and path is available at the headquarters of the Park.(Oglio South park text)
