The church has a nave but no aisles. It dates from 1726 and stands on the site of an earlier building, demolished after 1717 at the behest of the bishop of Mantua.
Its low facade is surmounted by a triangular pediment supported by four Tuscan pilasters. The nave is divided into three low rectangular cross-vaulted bays. In the apse is a picture (17C) of the Nativity of Mary, to whom the church was dedicated in the 18C.
The Madonna is depicted in the arms of Joachim and Ann. In the side chapels to the right is a painting by Giorgio Anselmi (1723-1797) of the Infant Mary between Joachim and Ann; on the left is a St Louis with St Francis and St Isidore, patron saint of farming.
