The historic centre of Viadana is dominated by the New Gate arch and by the parish church of Our Lady of the Assumption and Saint Christopher in the Castle, the building of which began in 1522, but was profoundly changed in the XIX century. The church conserves numerous important works of art such as a polyptych by Bartolomeo Vivarini and a group in terracotta of Mantegna influence.
Close by we find the Town Hall, designed by Pietro Antonio Maggi with the portico and tower and the Palazzo dell'Ex Monte di Pietà, designed by the same architect. In Piazza Manzoni we find the Mu.Vi., built at the beginning of the XX century and currently home to the Civic Modern Art Gallery, of the Town Library and the "Antonio Parazzi" Town Museum which, in addition to the paintings, ceramics and fabrics, also has an interesting archaeology section.
