Famedio dei Caduti

This church has an octagonal plan and originated as the church of the Our Lady of the Rosary as Ferdinando I Gonzaga ordered its construction in 1640 following a request from the Compagnia del Santissimo Rosario.

It was deconsecrated in the late 18C and re-consecrated as a memorial chapel in 1922. A plaque walled into the facade commemorates the fact that it was converted to a hospital in 1859 following the bloody battle of Solferino and San Martino.

Only open on 4 November and 25 April every year.
