OSTIGLIA, founded by the Romans, is the most ancient town of this area; Cornelius Nepos was born here. In the neighbourhood you will find the beautiful XVI century Comuna sanctuary.
REVERE lies on the opposite Po riverbank; the parish church and the elegant Palazzo Ducale – which was designed by Luca Fancelli in XV century – are its major buildings.
Still, you may admire Romanesque churches in PIEVE DI CORIANO, FELONICA and SERMIDE.
In this area there are two nature reserve: Ostiglia Marshes – whose responsible are LIPU volunteers – and Isola Boschina – a 14 hectare reserve with a neoclassical rural villa and its intact farm structures.
A cycle track runs along Po South riverbank from Revere towards Bondeno, in Ferrara province.
This area is renowned for truffles; they are celebrated in some local agricultural fairs. Still, melons and onions are important agricultural produce.
