The prize was created in 1948 by Dino Villani, and became an important exhibit of contemporary art, above all painting. The Prize Gallery - Galleria del Premio in Italian – still hosts the awarded works (tel. 0376 535593).
In LUZZARA, you may visit a very interesting painting collection at the Naïve art museum.
In PEGOGNAGA the Romanesque San Lorenzo church (built around 1082) is today a monument to the dead.
Finally, GONZAGA is not only the village where Gonzaga family came from, but it is also the place where one of the most important agricultural fairs in Northern Italy takes place – it is the Fiera Millenaria (tel. 0376 58098).
