



This project has been conceived by the Province of Mantova in collaboration with the Confederation of Italian Cooperatives of Mantova, the Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano Cheese and the Consortium of Parmigiano - Reggiano Cheese. Through guided free visits, you will come to know the sites and the antique manufacturing techniques of the “princes” of the Mantuan dinner tables: Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. Both products are marked D.O.P. (Denomination of Protected Origin) and their production areas are specifically identified and demarcated (Parmigiano Reggiano on the right of the Po River - Grana Padano at the left of the Po River). The milk, obtained from milking the cows after they have delivered their calves, is the nutritive food of utmost excellence for infants. This simple and natural foodstuff has made its way into young people’s and adults’ diets and is made up of high-value biological protein, mineral salts, vitamins and fats that are all well balanced.
