Coming from North, you will find the morainic hills gently shelving into a green ground sprinkled with ancient villages and crossed by rivers and canals; you will arrive this way to the red-bricked Mantua. Then, sailing placidly southwards along Mincio river, you will get into Po course and see its banks, towpaths, flood plains and poplar groves.

Riding is a memorable way to discover this land: you can gallop alongside a canal and imagine your horse stretching more than you might believe; or you can slacken the reins and walk in pairs, chatting while trying to catch sight of pheasants, coots, herons and egrets.
